I found NK in the dusty little commercial hub of Beni, a bustling crossroads and gateway to the Annapurna Circuit. Surprising for such a small town, there were three thriving signboard artists, all quite talented.

But NK is special. A great attention to detail, and his light touch caught my eye.

He constructed paper models for his portraits when the ears were cut off in the original photo, sometimes drastically elongating the dog’s true ears.
